OKAY this was both hard to answer and easy to answer bc i'm good at remember to bookmark my faves (and also reread them all LMAO). that being said!! the below list is not in order, there are honorable mentions, and there's just so much incredible ryeji fic out there that it feels wild to just say 5.

if you haven’t read what’s in a name and you read ryeji fic…… please read it right now? it’s not only my favorite ryeji fic, it’s one of my fave stories of all time (including published shit like this fucking fic is a tour de force). it’s simply one of the most beautiful things i’ve ever read and i could not recommend it enough. (this author’s writing is so good i started watching warrior nun just so i can one day enjoy their warrior nun fics i’m so for real right now)

all or nothing is one of my comfort fics. it’s a perfect little two shot and idk how many times i’ve read it. the characterization is just lovely. the ryeji relationship is warm and soft and slow and sweet and inevitable (which you know is just how i like it). perfect amount of getting to know each other, perfect amount of pining, a dreamy dreamy yeji it’s just elite

What was the moment/scene that officially cemented you as a Sontails shipper? Or was it multiple?

Ah good question!

So if you've seen my sontails/sonine posting you've probably heard the story of me getting into sontails (no worries if you haven't)

Just to summarize, my journey started with Sonine and Movie!Sontails. The Grim scene in S1 E6 of Prime and the entire bar scene in Movie 2 just blasted me with second hand embarrassment (the good kind) that (despite me being eh about shipping them at that time) made be seriously go "Okay if just brothers why are these scenes directed this way". Sonic's feelings aside, I felt I knew in those moments that Nine and movie!Tails had possibly been written to have a subtextual crush on Sonic, and strong feelings in general. This was...my gateway.

But an "officially cemented" moment is a bit hard for me to specifically narrow down. I can tell you that by the time I'd been checking the Sonine tag after starting S2 of Prime and finished S2 I had to come to terms with the fact that I genuinely saw something there between the two of them (and was feeling frustrated that no one else was seemingly seeing it). At that point I'd settled as "I like Sonine but that doesn't mean I have to like all of Sontails".

Then I rewatched movie 2 a couple times and had to (similarly) come to terms with the fact that I was genuinely frustrated to not really see other people commenting on what I'd seen as potential subtext regarding Movie!Tails' feelings and that I liked this version as well.

So my gateway into Sontails was Prime and Sonic Movie 2, but accepting I liked most versions of Sontails/Sontails in general and not just a few specific versions was a bit of a slow journey. All I can say is that by the time I finished playing Colors Ultimate and got well into the Archie comics I knew I enjoyed Sontails just as much as I had come to enjoy Sonine, and was equally as obsessed with the dynamics.

I know you don’t do story reversals (which I agree with!!) but I wonder what you think an au of ‘what’s mine is yours is ours’ would look like if it was master Anakin impregnating young knight Obi-Wan? Would Anakin be quicker to believe the baby was his or nah?

so if I recall correctly obi-wan and anakin had been like mostly a sure thing courting-wise in what’s mine is yours is ours and so obi-wan isn’t just disbelieving that it’s his because he never ever slept with anakin but he’s also super betrayed - it’s only his love for anakin that allows him to compartmentalize the betrayal and embarrassment and hurt enough to go after anakin and then talk with him rationally

but like. I can’t really see master anakin being capable of that. I feel like he’d leave the moment the council says that obi-wan is pregnant (before they can even say that obi-wan is saying it’s his) and then he’d probably be very angry and either lash out at everyone around him and explode OR disappear for a few days and then reappear at obi-wan’s door fully intent on finding out who it was that dared to touch his padawan when they were going to be together they were courting they were going to be mated who did he sleep with how dare he betray anakin like that etc etc

like I can’t see a fic where master anakin handles the momentary betrayal the same way - he’d be a whole lot darker and angrier about the entire thing up until the moment obi-wan was able to offer him physical proof that he hadn’t been betrayed at all (probably via force feeling of the baby signatures or something idk where obi-wan forcefully makes anakin touch his stomach and feel their force signatures)

so would a master anakin believe it faster? nah I think he’d draw it out. fully plan out a few murders of the most likely candidates. whine to the chancellor about the whole thing, toe the line of outright falling to the sith before going back to obi-wan to demand closure and facts first only for obi-wan to be spitting mad now in his own right because it turns out his silver tongue means nothing if his master refuses to be around to hear him explain

So idk if y’all remember me mentioning that protag boy has a squad, and in that squad is a feral rabid little girl who’s also a huge powerhouse of magic. Protag boy calls her his little lotus and it’s the CUTEST fucking thing in the world. The entire squad loves feral girl very much, she’s like a daughter/little sister to all of them and they would all kill for her. It’s especially comedic when you see her interact with characters like Ezio who is normally very stoic and no-nonsense, but he’s SO soft around her and has the whole “I’ve only known her for a day and a half but if anything happened to her I would kill everyone in this room and then myself” attitude about her LOL. OR characters like mechanic boy who is kind of a tsundere and has a tough time showing affection…UNLESS it’s with feral girl. He will be Soft for her and for her only.

Feral girl is actually the fifth person to join the group, and Sage ends up joining them after she does, and they kind of end up becoming her main parental figure? I feel like Sage probably adopts her at some point, or at the very least becomes her legal guardian in some shape or form.

Anyway I’m also gonna infodump on mechanic boy a little bit. He’s got one of those infamous Tragic Backstories so he’s generally p closed off (compared to Ezio who just doesn’t really know how to Emotion so he’s emotionally constipated in general and not on purpose LMAO). He lost his leg due to an Incident which I’m not going to get into rn but after that he was given a prosthetic by his current guardian, who started taking care of him after that. He’s very close with her and all the people in her shop (she runs a mechanic shop where she builds prosthetics for physically disabled people!) so they know he’s got a weird Thing about physical affection. However when he joins up with protag boy, who has NO concept of what boundaries are, things get wild bc protag boy is stupidly, STUPIDLY affectionate in all ways, and mechanic boy freezes up and gets really flustered around him bc he jumps on him and hangs off of him ALL the time. But well. Eventually he starts getting used to physical affection (and realizes he’s actually severely touch starved lmao who would have guessed) so all the other members can start being physically affectionate with him too, and it’s VERY sweet 🥺

I love my kids sm I’m so so excited to actually get the rest of them designed…I’m currently working on mechanic boy’s design and then I’ll most likely do feral girl’s and Sage’s after his. They’re coming along! Slowly but surely!!

OKAY. I HAVE THOUGHTS. These were inspired by another post I saw, so they’re half mine, half someone else’s (I don’t remember the post sorry 😬 only that it mentioned something similar to this)

But when Dumbledore meets Tom for the first time, he immediately takes Tom’s behavior and physical reactions as bad things. Like, a flushed face and a feverish manner and stuff like that

Tom’s excitement and fervor about being different than the others is taken as a bad thing, through Dumbledore’s eyes. As proof he was always meant to be evil

But I think it’s bullshit and that we should remember that we’re seeing it through Dumbledore’s eyes. AND AS A PAST MEMORY!!! Memories change!!! All the time!!! Who’s to say Dumbledore’s memory wasn’t tainted by his later knowledge of Tom’s deeds???!!

Sorry lol. I’m very passionate about Tom. Anyway. My point was we’re seeing the memory through someone else’s eyes and not the scene as it truly was. Just another way we can’t always trust that Dumbledore speaks the truth, and something I wish more people realized

hello! i have a question abt your toxic megumi fic :) ! it may be a stupid question if so i apologize and you don’t have to answer this but it’s been on mind since i’ve read it, so megumi doesn’t love the reader if not how does he feel towards her? sorry once again if it’s a stupid question 😭!

Hi lovely! Not a stupid question at all thank you for asking this 🥺

He actually is very much in love with the reader but it’s such a toxic and controlling love it can definitely be misconstrued as other feelings. Megumi is very very very insecure in that particular story I wrote because he knows the reader is very beautiful and popular and worries she’ll leave him eventually. But he’s also very smart and because of his manipulative nature he knows how to get her exactly where he wants. He wants her to need him and be addicted to him and she unfortunately plays right into his hand every time. They both cheat on each other bc they are both super toxic but in the end he knows he can get away with murder when it comes to the reader because she’ll never be able to give up on him and how much she loves him. It would take a huge influence to make her leave him, it’s more or less impossible. He cheats bc he knows she’ll be angry but ultimately it scares her more than anything that she’ll lose him. She’ll cheat as an act of revenge but she and Megumi both know she’ll never find a good enough replacement for him no matter what.

So yeah in short, he does love her and he’s just a horrendous prick about it.

And if the end of the fic is the part that confused you, he didn’t say it back because he rarely does! He’ll say it at random times that give her hope that they have a good relationship but it’s, again, just to keep her under control. She worries when he doesn’t say it back to her and makes her want to make him love her back. So it’s just a never ending cycle really 😭

I think about some of those tidbits from Sonic Movie 2 all the time

I mean it's not as if this is out of character for Tails (given that he more explicitly just kind of straight up stalked Sonic in the backstory in Japan's version of the Sonic 2 manual) but man

This really is not to mention the way Sonic feigns uncomfortability/disgust when he's like "You even watch me in the shower??", and then when Tails doesn't even skip a beat explaining that he knows Sonic takes bubble baths Sonic full 180s into "Wow!😊". Just full on impressed with how extensively Tails has been watching him

Like they just dropped on us "Tails watches Sonic constantly like it's the Sonic show, no matter how private or intimate the moment" and "by all rights Sonic is perfectly okay with the knowledge of this behavior" and expected us to be normal about it?😂

I think they would be most famous for their beautifully decorated cakes.

I'm doing great, thanks for asking! I've been living in India for the past three months and everything has been going smoothly! The best about my job (I'm a French teacher) is probably that I get a LOT of time with nothing to do at the office, which allows me to write 🤣

Right now I'm working - as always - on several wips at once. One of them is actually 99% completed! It's a chewis fic, too (although it's a little more complicated than that), but I have one scene left and I'm completely stuck. The thing is 40k long and it's only the first draft so it'll take some editing. Other than that, I've got plans for a Change of Habits part 2 but I'm not making big progress on that. I am, however, making great progress on a sebchal fic I've been working on for literal years at the moment! I'm also supposed to work on the OT3+ fest but so far I'm stuck...

Now when it comes to motivation... No idea. My motivation makes zero sense, that's probably why I work on several fics at once. I have long moments where I have zero motivation, then moments where I'm writing a lot... But it's very kind of you to call my silly fics masterpiece, I'm going to blush x__x
